The School has used AI to generate a corporate video for the first time, marking an important step forward in its innovations in imaging technology.

In the video, all on-screen appearances of Professor William K.M. Lee, Director of HKU SPACE, were produced by AI, even featuring him in a new intelligent-robot persona; the entire narration was delivered using an AIsynthesised version of the Director’s voice, available in both English and Mandarin. Leveraging image-to-video technology, the video also reconstructs the School’s office at the HKU Main Building during its establishment in 1957. Several other segments were AI-generated as well, including displays of cuttingedge technologies and visions for future development.
