HKU SPACE has received the ‘Sustainable Organisation – Merit’ award at the UNSDG Achievement Awards Hong Kong 2026, organised by the Green Council. This marks the School’s third consecutive year of recognition at the Awards and the first time it has received the ‘Sustainable Organisation – Merit’ award, reflecting its continued progress in advancing sustainable development and integrating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its operations, teaching, and community engagement initiatives.

The award recognises organisations that demonstrate a strong commitment to the SDGs through sustainable business practices and impactful sustainability initiatives. Dr Bruce Cheung, Head of the College of Life Sciences and Technology at HKU SPACE, accepted the award on behalf of the School at the presentation ceremony held on 28 August 2026.

This achievement reflects the School’s ongoing commitment to “ESG: Committing to Corporate Citizenship”, a key direction of its 2025–30 Strategic Plan. Through responsible governance, environmental stewardship, and the promotion of an inclusive and respectful culture, the School continues to create positive and lasting value for its students, staff, partners, and the wider community.

As HKU SPACE advances its sustainability agenda, the School remains committed to embedding ESG principles across its operations and contributing to a more sustainable future for Hong Kong and beyond.
