HKU SPACE Launches “Certificate in Aero Engine Maintenance” Course in Collaboration with HAESL

HKU SPACE and Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Limited (HAESL) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on 2 May 2019 to establish strategic partnerships and launch the new “Certificate Aero Engine Maintenance” course. The MOU signing ceremony was held at HAESL and the MOU was signed by Professor William K.M. Lee, Director of HKU SPACE and Mr Angus Barclay, Director & General Manager of HAESL.

The course is designed to nurture talents in the profession field of Aero Maintenance by offering 1-month in-depth lectures and 12-month internship opportunities in HAESL in the ”1+12” structure. Student who successfully completed the lectures would be awarded a qualification, comparable to Level 3 under the Qualifications Framework, which could be a potential pathway to Higher Diploma and Bachelor Degree.
