Mr Pang Chi-chuen Ken

Mr Ken Pang is a senior language teacher and language expert. He has previously worked at local secondary schools and the University of Hong Kong. He is currently a Programme Director, Senior Lecturer, and Deputy Leader (Chinese Language) of the Centre for Language Education and Assessment at HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE). Over the years, he has led various research and development projects commissioned by the Education Bureau, Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR), and the Quality Education Fund. His work covers areas such as Applied Linguistics, language education for ethnic minorities, language support for kindergartens, and Putonghua promotion initiatives. He also serves as a council member of the Hong Kong Children’s Arts Association.

The School of Professional and Continuing Education at the University of Hong Kong's School of Humanities and Law provides a diverse range of Chinese language courses tailored for Chinese and foreign individuals of varying ages and backgrounds. From children to adults, we are dedicated to offering professional Putonghua and Cantonese language courses. In Hong Kong's unique multicultural environment, the importance of mastering Putonghua and Cantonese is self-evident. Possessing the ability to speak two or three languages not only enhances individual language skills but also deepens understanding of different cultures. Our courses aim to help students thrive in this city of linguistic diversity, fostering communication and understanding among individuals from diverse backgrounds.
