Student Sharing – Ms Wong Kar Man (LLB)LLB Graduate with First Class Honours, University of London

It seems like it was yesterday that I attended the programme information seminar at HKU SPACE and decided to enrol in the LLB programme of the University of London. Many of my colleagues working in the Government recommended this programme to me because it is an internationally recognised and well-regarded qualification. It was really an enjoyable experience to study at HKU SPACE because they provided excellent learning support and their visiting lecturers are renowned scholars from the UK.

Being a working mom with two young kids made the already challenging task of completing a law degree an even harder mission. It seemed almost impossible to me. 24 hours a day were not quite enough, so I had to fully utilise every minute of my spare time to study - 30 minutes before work, one-hour lunch break, and 90 minutes after I put my kids to bed. Three hours of study per day was good enough to pave the way for a First Class Honours.

I have to thank my parents and husband for taking care of my kids while I buried myself in my study. I could not have accomplished this mission without their unreserved support. I am also grateful that I had four “study buddies” along the way to make my journey full of vigour and laughter.

Instead of looking at the hundred reasons to quit, look at the thousand reasons not to give up. Looking back, it was all worth it.
