Since the 1970s, the School has been offering a variety of programmes focusing on professional training in the fields of Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology Testing and Laboratory Management, ranging from introductory level to master’s degrees. Some of these courses emphasize on laboratory work, and this distinguishes us from other self-financed continuing education providers. All programmes are taught by dedicated and actively practicing professionals to ensure the academic quality of our programmes. This may explain why we are the leading part-time professional training provider in biomedical sciences.
This programme is for those wishing to progress to more senior positions in medical laboratories. Students are required to complete a research project and six modules, which will be taught in a blended mode with online tutorials, lectures, hands-on practicals and face-to-face tutorials.

This programme is for those with a background education in the biological sciences or medical laboratory science disciplines wishing to progress to degree or honours degree level. The programme is designed to give students an understanding of the methodologies and issues in engaging the public in science. It aims to explore the role played by culture and media in science communication and discuss ways to deliver content and utilise technology and digital media to facilitate effective communication of science to different audiences. The programme aims to provide students with fundamental and advanced knowledge in biological science. It covers the biological principles and processes from molecules to human body to ecosystem level. It also equips students with knowledge and skills of the biotechnologies which can be applied to improve human lives.

The programme aims at introducing some major Medical Science Liaison (MSL) skills such as clinical data interpretation and presentation, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, public relations and key opinion leader management to students who are interested in establishing long-term collaboration relationships with healthcare professionals in the pharmaceutical, medical, and healthcare sectors. The programme will provide the essential knowledge for students who would like to develop a career in MSL in future.
This course will explain the ISO 9000 and ISO/IEC 17025 calibration requirements for clinical and testing laboratories and their underlying principles. It will provide participants with hands-on experience of the calibration of common laboratory instruments based on the standard criteria specified in the "ISO Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement" (GUM) and Guidance from ISO 10012.
