Mr Daniel Chan, Part-time Lecturer, HKU SPACE
Mr Daniel Chan is a renowned and experienced TV presenter and commentator who has worked for a number of local and global sports channels such as FOX Sports, Eurosport, NowTV and TVB. He is also an active and popular media "influencer" who runs his own channels on a number of livestreaming platforms such as YouTube and Patreon. In addition, he is Managing Director of Le Groupe Passion, a digital media advertising company that has won two Gold Marketing Events Awards 2020 in the Best Use of Social Media and the Best Use of Influencer.

Finally the promised sports season is coming: sports fans will soon be able to enjoy Euro 2020 and the Tokyo Olympics! While fans are exhilarated, they must also appreciate what these big events have done to surmount challenges created by the new normalcy. Equally exciting is what the new media try to do in the brave new world of crypto and live streaming: the emergence of new media platforms brings new stakeholders into the games and forces rethinking of traditional business models. The talk features a discussion of the above complexities facing sports as a business enterprise, and aims to bring in fun and sophistication for those who want to get the most out of these big sporting events!
