HKU SPACE Chatbot Terms and Conditions

Use of HKU SPACE Chatbot: The use of HKU SPACE Chatbot is not authorised to provide information on topics beyond the website's published content. Please be aware that a daily limit may be imposed on the usage of HKU SPACE Chatbot to ensure fair and appropriate utilisation. 

Security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your personal information when using the HKU SPACE Chatbot. Users should avoid inputting sensitive or personal information during your interactions with HKU SPACE Chatbot. 

Prohibited Conduct: You are prohibited from abusing the HKU SPACE Chatbot or engaging in any behaviour that may damage or bring negative impact on the service. This includes but is not limited to attempting to hack or exploit the service, transmitting viruses, or engaging in any illegal activities. 

Accuracy of Responses: HKU SPACE Chatbot generates responses using the Microsoft Azure AI service, which operates based on pre-trained algorithms and data available to the Microsoft Azure AI service at the time of generating a response (which may not include all current, complete or specific information). While we strive to provide accurate and current information, the Chatbot’s responses may not always reflect the most recent updates, policy changes, or developments and may occasionally generate incorrect, outdated or fabricated information (“AI hallucinations”). HKU SPACE does not guarantee the completeness, reliability, or 100% accuracy of the Chatbot’s responses. Users are solely responsible for verifying all information obtained through the Chatbot before relying on it.  

Limitations of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, HKU SPACE shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including but not limited to data loss, financial loss, or reputational harm) arising from the use of or reliance on the HKU SPACE Chatbot. By using the Chatbot, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless HKU SPACE, its affiliates, and representatives from any claims, damages or losses arising from your use of the HKU SPACE Chatbot. HKU SPACE may review chatbot interactions for quality assurance purposes and where material inaccuracies are identified, reserves the right to clarify, correct, or update information on its website or other official channels.

Termination: If any abuse or suspicious usage is found under your account, HKU SPACE reserves the right to terminate your access to HKU SPACE Chatbot at any time without notice. We may also modify or discontinue the service at any time without notice. 

Privacy: Your use of the Chatbot is subject to HKU SPACE’s privacy policy. Conversation history is stored within the School’s controlled systems and is automatically deleted after 30 days. The Chatbot operates within the School’s centrally approved Microsoft Azure platform, and the service is governed by the core information security and data protection policies of HKU SPACE. Conversation data may be sampled and reviewed in anonymised or pseudonymised form for quality assurance, security monitoring, and to detect or reduce AI hallucinations, in accordance with the HKU SPACE Privacy Policy

Governing Law: These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any dispute arising from these terms and conditions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts.
