Mr. Herman Kung

Mr. Herman Kung is a registered counselling psychologist with experience in counselling practice, supervision, and professional service in Hong Kong. He is committed to supporting mental health and promoting the professional development of counselling psychology. He currently serves as practicum supervisor for the Master in Counselling programme at The University of Hong Kong, where he supports the training and development of future counsellors. He also serves as Honorary External Secretary of the Division of Counselling Psychology of the Hong Kong Psychological Society, contributing to professional communication and collaboration within the field.

Introduction to Counselling

This one-hour seminar introduces the fundamental ideas and practical value of counselling in everyday life and professional contexts. It explores how counselling supports emotional wellbeing, communication, and problem-solving, while also highlighting the importance of listening, empathy, and appropriate boundaries when responding to others’ needs. The session is designed for participants who are interested in understanding the counselling approach and its relevance to personal growth, interpersonal relationships, and helping professions.
