Important Information

General English Entrance Exam:

* For taking part in the General English Entrance Exam, please:

  • Be punctual (please arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled test time).
  • Present your Hong Kong ID Card for formal General English Entrance Exam registration.
  • The exam comprises TWO parts:

    Part 1 Listening [100 Multiple Choice Questions]

    Part 2 Grammar [100 Multiple Choice Questions]

Enrolment and Fee Waiver:   
  • ​Please pay the $210 General English Entrance Exam Fee in cheque (made payable to "HKU SPACE") on the day of the test.
  • The Fee ($210) will be refunded to those who enrol into an English programme programme on the same day, that is, Saturday 12 March 2022.
  • The test result will be released 30 minutes after your test completion.
  • The last batch of test results will be released at around 3.30 pm.
  • The enrolment counter closes at 5.30 pm.
Non-local Applicants:

For Non-Local Applicants / Non-Permanent Hong Kong Residents: 

 

The following non-local / non-permanent Hong Kong residents are eligible to study part-time English Language courses at HKU SPACE without making visa arrangements (they do not need prior approval before taking up part-time study courses): 

1   those who live in Hong Kong on one-way permits (單程證); 
2   those admitted to Hong Kong as dependents; 
3   those issued with a valid working/employment visa; and 
4   those who stay in Hong Kong under the Capital Investment Entrant Scheme. 

It is the responsibility of individual applicants to ensure that their visas are valid and to make appropriate visa arrangements. Upon course enrolment, non-local applicants are required to show original copies of their permits and/or visas during application of General English programmes. 

COVID-19 Arrangements:

 

** In view of the severe COVID situation, talks/demonstration lessons may be conducted in live broadcast and/or face-to-face format.  Details will be announced closer to the event.

*** Please use the LeaveHomeSafe mobile application to enter the HKU SPACE centre.
