Dr. Farzad Sabetzadeh, PhD (HK PolyU), Expert in Knowledge Management

Farzad has his Ph.D in Knowledge Management from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prior to his research focus on knowledge management, he had a multidisciplinary research and work track, both in IT management and Industrial Engineering. He has also spent more than 7 years of continuous research work at the Knowledge Management Research and Innovation Center (KMIRC) at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and engaged in various projects of knowledge management in areas like e-learning, personalized learning environment, intellectual capital reporting, big data and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC). He joined CherryPicks (member of NetDragon Websoft Holdings) as the Product Development Specialist in September 2016. He is currently working in research, design and deployment of the state-of-the-art web technologies for knowledge visualization and learning analytics.

Specialized in IP & IT laws with 14 years experience, Donnie obtained two doctorate degrees from both civil law and common law jurisdictions. He represented both large corporations and startups in IP registrations, Internet regulatory and data privacy, dispute resolution and licensing projects. In addition, he is experienced in managing both inbound and outbound legal services for both Chinese and Western clients. Meanwhile, he is an active researcher on law and society and had been one of the pioneers who teach and research on the cyberspace law subjects in China. - 14 years experience in advising and teaching intellectual property and information technology laws - full exposure to enforcement of patents, copyright, trademark rights and unfair competition - comprehensive knowledge in both civil law and common law system - rich local knowledge in the Greater China and knows how to get things done locally - quick response in urgent and complex matters, as a team player - sensitive and knowledgeable on the trend of internet and information technology

As an innovator, engineer, and marketer, Mr. Ma has around 20 years of industry working experience in a few global science companies (such as GE, DuPont, and 3M) as business leader leading cross-functional teams in Greater China and Asia Pacific for market-driven innovation and new product development across different industries. Prior to his current role as the Senior Program Director of HKU SPACE, he was the CMO (Technology & Incubation) of HKUST and the first Director - Materials Innovation of FOSSIL Group (Listed in USA). Academically, Mr. Ma holds an MBA degree from the University of Cambridge and is pursuing his doctoral degree at the University of Hong Kong with research focus on cross-sector (university-industry-government) collaboration, market-driven innovation, knowledge transfer, technology commercialization, and regional innovation systems in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
