This course will help you if you take a degree course that requires you to produce assignments in English. It will enable you to learn, to write and succeed across college and university curriculums. The course aims to empower you to write clearly, coherently, and concisely and to acquire the academic literacies and discourse conventions applicable to most disciplines in higher education.

「行政人員證書(中日/日中翻譯)」課程，為具高日語水平的人士培養中日/日中翻譯技能。此課程的翻譯教材會集中於三個範疇:商業實用文、出版及電影。學員亦可從各方面學習翻譯的基礎知識及透過討論及學習不同的翻譯文本，有助提升學員的日語能力。

This programme provides systematic training in translation for those who already have degree or equivalent qualifications. It aims at giving students the confidence and competence to deal with translation work at a close to professional level in different settings and contexts. Students should be able to apply the linguistic and cultural concepts learned to the practical tasks of translation and make improvements in translations done by people and/or artificial intelligence after completion of the programme.
 

The programme also provides a solid foundation for those who plan to study for a higher qualification in translation in the future: holders of the Postgraduate Certificate in Translation can articulate to Postgraduate Diploma in Translation with exemption from the first five modules of the Postgraduate Diploma in Translation programme offered by HKU SPACE.

The programme is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform translation work across various settings and contexts. The primary objective is to instill a sense of confidence and competence in students, enabling them to do translation work at a level that closely mirrors professional standards. This will be achieved through practical exercises that simulate real-world translation scenarios, including assessing translation works done by artificial intelligence. Students are encouraged to apply the linguistic and cultural concepts they have learned throughout the programme to practical tasks, including the final Translation Project module.
 
In addition to providing students with practical training, the programme also lays a solid foundation for further academic pursuits. It prepares students for higher qualifications by providing them with a comprehensive understanding of translation theories and methodologies.

本課程提昇學生特定英語技能，使學員在日常生活中準確和適當地運用英語溝通。

This programme can be taken upon successful completion of the Certificate in Italian (Upper Intermediate) or an equivalent programme of 350-370 hours. Students will practise speaking skills, expressing opinions on culture, sport, food & drink, current affairs, local events, holidays & the world today. They will read and react to authentic texts, making comments in both the spoken and written forms. Students will also listen to songs and recordings of native speakers such as public announcements and detailed instructions.

By the end of the programme, students should be able to talk about various topics in a more detailed and fluent way , write different types of texts regarding more abstract and cultural matters, summarise the main ideas when listening to clear speeches or reading a wide range of texts.

本課程是為成功修畢「西班牙語證書（中高級）」(Certificate in Spanish (Upper Intermediate))或相當於350至370小時的同等課程的學員而設的。學員將進一步深化其德語講說技巧，表達對文化、體育、飲食、時事、地方活動、假期和當今世界的看法。學員將閱讀更多真實的文本和作出回應，並以口語和書面形式發表評論。學員還會聆聽歌曲和母語者的錄音，如公共廣播和詳細的說明。在課程結束時，學生應該能夠更詳細且流暢地談論各種主題，撰寫不同類型文本，涉及更抽象的內容和文化問題，並能夠在聆聽清晰錄音或閱讀各類文本時總結主要觀點。

本課程為"普通話證書(中級)"的進階課程，旨在：
 

1. 學習傳意知識：
2. 提高普通話傳意水平；
3. 加深對普通話語言文化的認識。

本課程是為成功修畢「西班牙語證書（初級）」(Certificate in Spanish (Introductory))或相當於110至130小時的同等課程的學員而設的，旨在鞏固學員的語言基礎及加強其對相關語法的應用。在課程結束時，學員應該能夠更有信心地以西班牙語談論如家庭、朋友、休閒活動、飲食、過去和未來的情況等不同的主題。不論在閱讀還是聆聽方面，學員都應能掌握重點，還可以寫一些簡單的文本，例如明信片和電子郵件等。

本課程涵蓋歐洲語言共同參考架構（CEFR）A2等級的內容。

本課程是為完成了「西班牙語證書（中級）」 (Certificate in Spanish (Intermediate)) 或相當於230-250小時的同等課程的學員而設的，讓他們在已建立的語言基礎上加強語法及其他相關技巧。學員透過簡單的討論、角色扮演和小組活動等各不同形式的訓練，以提升其講說西班牙語的能力和自信。在課程結束時，學生應該能夠用該語言表達簡單的意見和感受以及談論過去、現在和未來；他們還應該能夠從簡單的廣告中讀取信息，並使用多種動詞時態在熟悉的話題上寫作。
