I am currently a practising dentist in a private sector after working in non-government organisations for a few years. MSc in Human Nutrition helped me to embark on the career of biomedical science and dentistry as nutrition plays a significant role in maintaining not only good general health but also good dental health.
Oral and dental diseases, as well as other systemic diseases that have an impact on oral health, can affect people's ability to eat and therefore affect their nutritional status. Moreover, when the nutritional status of people is compromised, it may negatively affect their oral health. It may also impact the severity of oral diseases as well as their rate of recovery.
MSc in Human Nutrition was a great chance for me to further my studies, reflect on my work and develop a comprehensive view of managing primary dental care.
