Mr Jeremy Lam - Partner & Head of Financial Services Practice, Deacons; Member of FSDC Policy Research Committee
Jeremy is a Partner of Deacons in Hong Kong and Head of the Firm’s Financial Services Practice Group. He qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1991 and was admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 1992. He specialises in Financial Services with a particular emphasis on retail investment funds. He also advises on a wide range of securities, licensing, compliance and regulatory issues pertaining to the asset management industry. Jeremy served as the Firm’s Executive Partner from 2008 to 2012 and is a member of the Firm’s management committee.
Ms Josephine Kwan - Partner, Asset and Wealth Management, PricewaterhouseCoopers; Member of FSDC Mainland Opportunities Committee
Josephine is an audit partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers Hong Kong. She has more than 20 years of auditing and advisory experience, having started in the Financial Services practice serving banks and brokers. She has specialised in asset management for the past 14 years, advising clients including asset management houses, private equity funds, hedge funds and other industry players. Josephine is responsible for a number of audits for large global and regional asset managers, hedge funds, private equity and venture capital funds. In addition to financial statement audits, Josephine has leveraged her extensive experience in advising clients on internal control, valuation, regulatory and compliance matters. In recent years Josephine has played a key role in leading a group of PwC experts to advise Chinese asset managers on their expansion in Hong Kong and overseas. She is one of the lead partners responsible for the private equity and venture capital funds audit business in Hong Kong as part of PwC’s wider Private Equity Practice. Josephine is an active speaker at PwC and external events, in particular on China-Hong Kong asset management industry-related topics. She has been appointed a member of the Mainland Opportunities Committee of the Financial Services Development Council since January 2017. Josephine is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She graduated with Honours as a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and holds a Master of Arts Degree in Philosophy from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
