"Globalisation vs Deglobalisation" Forum

In celebration of HKU SPACE’s 60th anniversary , an international forum “2017: Globalisation vs Deglobalisation” was held by HKU SPACE Executive Academy (SEA), College of Business and Finance and Institute for China Business in both Hong Kong and Shanghai on Jun 29 and July 1 respectively.  Among the prominent attendees were Professor Peter Matheison (President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong), Professor Terry Kit-fong Au (Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor , Academic Staffing and Resources of the University of Hong Kong) for the Hong Kong forum; Professor William Lee (Director of HKU SPACE) and Professor Ning R.Liu (Deputy Director (Business and China), HKU SPACE ) attended both HK and Shanghai forums.  Distinguished Scholars Jeffry Frieden (Professor of Government) from Harvard University and Harold James (Professor of History and International Affairs) from Princeton University delivered keynote speeches on their views regarding the competition between globalisation and deglobalisation from the historic, political and economic perspectives. Mr. Ronnie C. Chan (Chairman, Hang Lung Properties Limited) and Mr. Antony Leung Kam-chung (Group Chairman & CEO, Nan Fung Group) also joined as panelists in the Hong Kong forum, sharing their unique insights on the latest international developments in politics and economics, as well as its relevancy to Hong Kong to  more than 600 guests and HKU SPACE alumni, who attended the forum.  While the one day Shanghai forum attracted 300 participants.  Apart from the two professors, business gurus from both Mainland China and Taiwan, Mr Cho Tak-wong (Chairman of the Board, Fuyao Glass Industry Group Co., Ltd.) and Mr. Chaney Ho (President, Advantech), also shared their perspectives and participatedin panel discussion.
