Dr. Parkes is currently Associate Dean International Aston Business School & Associate Pro Vice Chancellor International Aston University. His interests are in the area of entrepreneurial personality, innovation and access to finance for small firms and he leads teaching and research activities in these areas. He also leads the Business Schools development of global collaborative programmes. His background is as a marketing practitioner. He is formerly the Sales & Marketing Director of Aga Cookers and Armitage Shanks. He has managed a number of MBI’s and now acts as an Advisor and Non Executive Director at a number of other businesses including a children’s day nursery and a management consultancy practice.

Ken Chau joined uCloudlink in June 2015. In his current role as President of APAC and Senior Vice President, Ken is responsible for all facets of the company's global business including strategy, architecture, operations, development and overall business performance. A large component of his role is meeting with clients and partners from all parts of the globe to understand their key business challenges and translate those into offerings that are delivered to the market, and Ken is well positioned to be able to share the insights that he has gained from working with a varied mix of clients globally over the years. In his current role at uCloudlink, Ken will continue to lead enterprise wide initiatives focused on improving client experience for the company. Ken brings 20+ years of experience in the IT and Telco industry leading global sales teams to influence end-to-end business results. He partners with all levels of leadership, ensuring customers gain competitive advantage with the company's pioneer technologies. His technology and operational expertise comprise cloud, data management, security, mobility and business transformation. Prior to joining uCloudlink, Ken held various management positions with leading IT organizations including Critrix and Huawei where he oversaw the companies' key markets in Hong Kong and Macau, and led channel operations to accelerate the companies' strategic growth. Before that, Ken has held various positions in leading IT companies in roles ranging from direct sales, channel management, and strategic business alliances. Ken is an experienced business growth sales and technology executive with proven track record in driving change and managing growth through building and training high performance teams. He is known for disciplined and aggressive execution versus competition as well as delivering sales results that are best in class. Often asked to speak on innovation, Ken is an experienced and adept speaker. Pulling on his experiences, Ken's speaking topics revolve around new technology trends, business transformation and workplace mobility. Ken holds M.Sc. in Information Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and B.Sc (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Hong Kong.
