Ya-hsin first joined Oxford University Innovation in the UK as a Technology Transfer Project Manager in 2008 where she managed a portfolio of different technologies from engineering to medical products and biotechnology. She later moved to HK and started providing consulting services for innovation commercialization activities including several large scale projects with collaborators from universities, industries, and governments in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mainland China and UK. Ya-hsin holds a BSc (Dean’s List) in Bio-Industrial Engineering from the National Taiwan University and a MSc in Electrical Engineering from the National Chiao-Tung University. She has an MBA degree from the University of Oxford. Prior to the MBA, she was a researcher in Taiwan’s Academia Sinica and an IT Specialist at IBM Life Sciences Center of Excellence.

With more than 30 years of experience in domestic business management, Dr. Tam has been more than 10 years of focus on IT, media, manufacturing, healthcare and venture finance. He led four corporate mergers, acquisitions and IPO. He also served as mentor of entrepreneurship strategy training at Tsinghua University. Dr. Tam has published several academic journals, created and directed the Co-Process Model and helped develop several software design patents. He holds a Doctorate in Engineering from the University of Warwick, UK, and his dissertation addresses the impact of knowledge management on the decision-making of China SME CEOs.

As an innovator, engineer, and marketer, Mr. Ma has around 20 years of industry working experience in a few global science companies (such as GE, DuPont, and 3M) as business leader leading cross-functional teams in Greater China and Asia Pacific for market-driven innovation and new product development across different industries. Prior to his current role as the Senior Program Director of HKU SPACE, he was the CMO (Technology & Incubation) of HKUST and the first Director - Materials Innovation of FOSSIL Group (Listed in USA). Academically, Mr. Ma holds an MBA degree from the University of Cambridge and is pursuing his doctoral degree at the University of Hong Kong with research focus on cross-sector (university-industry-government) collaboration, market-driven innovation, knowledge transfer, technology commercialization, and regional innovation systems in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
